Date Jan 1, 2009 Previous By Peter Casillas, MDiv. As we walk with God we experience the right paradox. Have you ever felt like Paul? I do the things I do not want to do yet the things I do want to do, I do not accomplish. How frustrating this experience can be for a person like you who wants to follow God. Perhaps we should add, our failures, our sins, our character ... uff!
Many times we determine that this journey of struggles, ups and downs is just a negative experience in our journey towards heaven, yet is it? Psalms 139, invites to consider a God that walks with us in darkness as well as in light. That there is no place in heaven and earth that we can hide from Him. Doesn't that give you a clue? God is not affraid of your falls and struggles. On the contrary he offers to be there until the end of time. Moreover, he promises ... I began the work in you and I will finish it at the time of my second coming.
What I'm tyring to say is, that your struggle in your spiritual life is not negative, on the contrary, it needs to happen. It is the Holy Spirit of God that places that struggle there so you can have a need for Jesus. Embrace the struggle, don't push away ...God is talking to you in a very personal level where only you can hear Him.
I invite you to enjoy the paradox even when it gets very difficult.
